So, we’re supposed to get snow and/or ice tonight. This will be the first time I’ve been home for winter weather while also owning a car. Sure, I have all-seasons and live in the Georgia suburbs where rednecks like to drive their trucks at or above the regular speed limit in the snow, because they’re idiots who deserve to have their licenses shredded... But I would love to drive to my neighborhood pool’s parking lot and just practice snow driving and/or do a little bit of hooning.

Unfortunately, I live in a cul-de-sac that’s slanted downward, and then the rest of my street is a slight incline as well. Then, at the end of it, there’s a choice between a steep hill and a really steep hill. In other words, I’d have to leave my car in the parking lot tonight and then walk to it, but the HOA is run by assholes and I’d get towed or fined for doing that.

My first attempt at snow driving would have to be going uphill on a dead-end street with no room to slide backwards without hitting one of my neighbors’ cars and/or the curb. Oh well. I’ll just stick to my normal tradition of watching the rednecks slide around like idiots.

Yeah, we’re in a similar situation. We live on corner lot at the entrance to a cul-de-sac that has a slight incline. That in and of itself isn’t a huge issue, except for how steep the entrance to our driveway is. No, the problem is that no matter which way I leave out of our corner of the neighborhood, within a quarter mile in every direction, there are very steep hills on narrow streets. We basically live on a plateau with valleys on all sides. -.-”

Can't you park it somewhere else on the street that isn't part of the cul-de-sac? Or worst case, park on the damn front yard.

Nahh, they’re stupidly strict about stuff. Street parking isn’t allowed or anything.

Find the head of the hoa and kidnap them so they can’t call the cops?

I’ve driven in our ga snow several times. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. It’s mostly ice which means you might as well stay home. Drove home during snowpacalypse and I just had to drive slower. The hardest part was worrying about all the other idiots. I averaged 30-35 mph on 85 and 285. Some idiot thought his bald tires were perfect for trying to go highway speeds. He was all over the place. Hope he made it home safely but judging by his driving I wouldn't take that bet.

Going sideways through an intersection back in 09 was super fun. It was only half planned.
